Matthew is a litigator whose practice is focused on civil litigation and insurance defense with an emphasis in environmental litigation. He manages a variety of cases in state and federal courts and has significant experience in real estate litigation including boundary disputes, title claims and easement issues. He also represents architects, engineers and other design and construction professionals in contract and negligence claims.
Matthew’s civil trial practice encompasses all phases of litigation including trial and motions, discovery and mediations. He is a thorough researcher and uses his skills to provide the best possible outcomes for his clients.
A former senior prosecutor in Virginia, Matthew has considerable courtroom experience including murder trials and other serious criminal offenses.

Obtained a defense verdict in bench trial in favor of contractor involving allegations of breach of contract and negligent construction.
Successfully argued Motion to Dismiss on behalf of an environmental services firm in a case of major hydraulic fluid spill on the Colonial Pipeline.
