Partners Bill Pollock and Ed Coleman won a defense trial victory in Carteret County Superior Court for one of the firm’s commercial trucking clients. The accident involved a collision between a postal service vehicle and a dump truck hauling construction materials. The postal driver suffered serious injuries in the accident and claimed the collision was the fault of the truck driver. Ed and Bill were able to have all direct claims against the trucking company dismissed, and had much of the plaintiff’s expert testimony limited at trial. After a four day trial, the jury deliberated for around one hour before finding the accident to be the fault of the postal driver, which acted as a complete bar to any recovery for the plaintiff.
