John Cella presented “The Basics and Ethics of Estate Planning and Probate Law” at the Wake County Bar Association’s all-day continuing legal education program on Friday, January 9^th. John’s session addressed common ethics issues in estate planning legal representations such as the client’s identity, the scope of representation, and conflicts of interest, including attention to problematic third-party requests to perform legal services for others. It also covered ethics considerations for personal representatives and beneficiaries in estate administration matters.

John is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law. Skilled at managing tax-oriented and family complexities in estate planning and estate and trust administration matters, John has practiced in trusts and estates, tax, and ERISA for over twenty years.
