John Cella presented “The Basics and Ethics of Estate Planning and Probate Law” at the Wake County Bar Association’s all-day continuing legal education program on Friday, January 9th. John’s session addressed common ethics issues in estate planning legal representations such as the client’s identity, the scope of representation, and conflicts of interest, including attention to problematic third-party requests to perform legal services for others. It also covered ethics considerations for personal representatives and beneficiaries in estate administration matters.
John is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law. Skilled at managing tax-oriented and family complexities in estate planning and estate and trust administration matters, John has practiced in trusts and estates, tax, and ERISA for over twenty years.
