Trusts and estates lawyer John Cella was a contributing author of the Second Edition of the North Carolina Fiduciary Litigation Manual, which was released by the North Carolina Bar Association earlier this year.
John co-authored a new chapter titled “Principal and Income Act Litigation”, which reviews the types of principal and income encountered in estate and trust administration, the differences between taxable income and fiduciary accounting income, the law governing a fiduciary’s characterization of distributions as principal or income, and tips for prudent fiduciary recordkeeping and documentation to minimize the risk of disputes.
A North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law, John has practiced law for 25 years.
