February 9, 2026

John Cella, trusts and estates lawyer, and Patricia Harris, litigation paralegal, participated in the Wills for Heroes pro bono legal clinic sponsored by the North Carolina Bar Foundation and held at the City of Fayetteville Police Training Center on Saturday, February 7, 2026.  The Wills for Heroes program partners with local fire, police, and EMS departments to host clinics where volunteer attorneys draft (and volunteer paralegals notarize or witness the execution of) simple wills, health care powers of attorney, financial powers of attorney, and advance directives for first responders and their families, free of charge.  The clinic is one way that the legal profession can assist first responders who risk their lives daily to serve and protect North Carolinians.

John Cella is on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Bar Foundation and co-chairs the Pro Bono Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section.  Patricia Harris is an experienced litigation paralegal and pro bono legal services volunteer.  A “hero” herself, Patricia has served our country as a U.S. Army Sergeant and Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm Combat Veteran.
