Partner Elizabeth Overmann served as a faculty member for the International Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC) 2026 Trial Academy, held August 1 to 7 at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law in Columbia, South Carolina.

The Trial Academy is one of the oldest and most respected programs for developing defense trial advocacy skills. The week-long intensive pairs faculty instruction and demonstration with hands-on student participation in the setting of a mock trial, giving attorneys the chance to learn and sharpen their courtroom technique by doing. The IADC is a leading professional association of corporate and insurance defense attorneys, bringing together experienced advocates from across the country and around the world.

Within the IADC, she serves on the Transportation Committee and the Insurance and Reinsurance Committee. Her selection to the Trial Academy faculty reflects both her courtroom experience and her commitment to developing the next generation of defense trial lawyers.
