Civil defense litigators Elizabeth Overmann and Ed Coleman participated in “Defending the Road Warrior” seminar at the 2023 North Carolina Trucking Association Annual Councils Conference and Expo held in Myrtle Beach October 5-6. The firm was also a Silver Sponsor of the event.
In addition to coordinating attorney presentations, Elizabeth had numerous roles in the event including presenting an exemplar plaintiff’s opening statement targeted against trucking companies and was a panel speaker along with Master Trooper Christopher “Scott” Baker of the NCSHP and Melissa Anderson, Walmart Private Fleet Operations Safety Manager in a discussion of the first 24 Hours after an accident. Elizabeth and Ed both contributed in deposition drills and were speakers in the session, “Proper Document Retention for Commercial Vehicle Maintenance Records.”
Elizabeth and Ed are seasoned lawyers who represent large and small motor carriers and trucking companies often on behalf of many national insurance companies or directly for the trucking company in claims in North Carolina and Virginia, and Elizabeth practices in South Carolina as well. In addition to the NC Trucking Association, they are highly involved in legal organizations supporting drivers and carriers such as TIDA, DRI, IDAC and more. They are both graduates of Campbell University School of Law.
