Elizabeth Overmann and Ed Coleman obtained a defense verdict last month after a week-long jury trial in Cumberland County, NC.  Overmann and Coleman defended a tractor trailer driver who was rear-ended at a high rate of speed by another tractor trailer driver as he attempted to merge back on to the roadway. The bifurcated trial resulted in the jury finding that the Plaintiff’s negligence contributed to the accident.  The Plaintiff was seeking an award in excess of policy limits.
