February 21, 2022

Partners, Ben Kuhn and Ashleigh Black, attended the 12th annual meeting of the Real Estate Lawyers Association of North Carolina (RELANC) held in Pinehurst February 18-19th.  Attorney General Josh Stein delivered the keynote opening speech and following a panel discussion among several NC Senator and House Representative legislator guests, Representative Tim Moore conducted the Legislative Wrap-Up.

Ben Kuhn is a founding member of RELANC, a 500+ member nonprofit which advocates on behalf of real estate attorneys and the property-owning public.  Highly acknowledged as accomplished leaders in the real estate arena, Ben and Ashleigh are actively involved in the association, both serving on the board of directors and acting as past presidents.

Recently, RELANC has focused on areas including e-closings, mechanics lien legislation, cyber fraud, and cyber security, recording fees, NC-SC boundary line matters and fighting the forces of the Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL).  RELANC is the only real estate-centric trade association focused on consumer protection with a lobbyist at the NC legislature protecting real estate professionals and their clients.
