Our lawyers are routinely recognized in the legal and business communities.

In its third annual rankings, Fortune magazine has again named Ragsdale Liggett PLLC a top rated North Carolina law firm based on the percentage of LexisNexis® Martindale-Hubbell® AV Preeminent® attorney ratings achieved by peer review. The rating is a significant accomplishment and a testament to the fact that a lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence and our lawyers have consistently held the highest AV ratings for decades. Two-thirds of our lawyers maintain the esteemed AV rating.

Our firm has been named a first-tier Best Insurance Law Firm by U.S. News & World Report. The rigorous process conducted to receive this honor is by client review.

Business North Carolina magazine named five of our lawyers Legal Elite through a peer review process of more than 20,000 attorneys in the state where fewer than 3% of all lawyers in the state are recognized. We were honored for excellence in insurance, construction, environmental law and commercial and residential real estate law.

Best Lawyers of America® selected more of our lawyers as best in their practice area for insurance, construction and real estate law and commercial litigation. These listings are based on an exhaustive and rigorous peer-review survey of the legal profession in which attorneys nationwide are asked to rate the top practitioners in their areas of practice. Because listings are based on votes of other lawyers and cannot be bought, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor.

Seven of our partners have been named Super Lawyers, and all of our associates have received the Rising Star recognition. This esteemed list is made by an attorney-led research team at Super Lawyers, a service of the Thomson Reuters Legal division that undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process which includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates, peer review of candidates. Only 5% of lawyers in the state may receive Super Lawyer designations while 2.5% of lawyers having practiced under ten years may be honored with a Rising Star award.

In 2013, NC Lawyers Weekly recognized two attorneys with awards in both “Leader in the Law” and “Women of Justice.” The publication recognizes only twenty-five of those within the North Carolina legal community who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice and accomplishment in improving the quality of justice. NC Lawyers editors state, “The honorees represent those who exemplify the very highest ideals of the legal profession.”
