John Edward McKnight, Associate, Litigation John Edward McKnight is an associate attorney practicing in the litigation department of Ragsdale Liggett PLLC, where he concentrates on commercial civil litigation. His practice includes cases involving construction law, employment law, consumer protection and represents clients before North Carolina State Regulatory Agencies. John is admitted to practice before all North Carolina state and federal courts. Prior to joining Ragsdale Liggett, John served as an associate attorney at Hatch, Little & Bunn, L.L.P., where he gained extensive courtroom experience and managed all aspects of the firm’s Domestic Law practice. While primarily focused on domestic law, John also handled cases involving local government issues, landlord-tenant disputes and breach of contract claims. Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, John received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1999 from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and his Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2004. He was a member of the Moot Court Board from 2002-2005, and served as the Chief Justice of that Board during the 2003-2004 term. He also competed in National Moot Court competitions and upon graduation was selected for membership in the National Order of Barristers. John has remained active in local and state politics for years, including serving as Campaign Director and Treasurer for Lorrin Freeman’s 2006 campaign for Wake County Clerk of Superior Court. John is on the Board of Directors for Raleigh’s Capital Opera and serves on the fundraising committee for the Wake County Women’s Center. John is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, and the 10th Judicial District. John resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. |
