Richard O. Bolton, Associate, Real Estate An associate attorney at Ragsdale Liggett PLLC, Richard O. Bolton practices in the real estate department. Richard’s practice focuses on real estate transactions, the formation of corporate entities for ownership of real estate, and the representation of various lenders, title companies and real estate developers. In addition to closing real estate purchases and construction transactions, Richard routinely negotiates leases and contracts and also handles estate/probate work. Richard is admitted to practice in the State of North Carolina and the Federal Court of the United States, Eastern District of North Carolina, and the United States Supreme Court. Prior to Ragsdale Liggett, Richard was an attorney at Boxley, Bolton & Garber, LLP, where he practiced probate, estate planning, real estate law, corporate law and civil litigation. Deciding to concentrate on commercial real estate, Richard made the move to Ragsdale Liggett in 2005. Richard’s passion is underprivileged children. He is a mentor for the literacy based YMCA community Hope program, for which he tutors and mentors children from a Raleigh housing community. Richard has also coached various YMCA youth basketball teams which have included the children he mentors. He and his wife are also in the process of adopting a daughter from China. Dedicated to his community, Richard serves on the board of directors of the Dave Brumitt Foundation for Gastric and Esophageal Cancer Research and Camp Oak Hill and Retreat Center, a Christian camp that he has supported for many years. In 2004, Habitat for Humanity of Wake County named Richard Outstanding Legal Services Volunteer, and in 2006, he received the Triangle Business Journal’s 40 under 40 award for his community involvement and leadership. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Wake County Bar Association. Richard grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and received his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Wake Forest University in 1994. He received his Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 1998, when he was admitted to practice in North Carolina. Richard and his wife, Angel, reside in Raleigh with their son George. |
