Associate, Litigation

Angela M. Allen practices in the litigation department where she focuses her practice in the areas of real estate litigation and business litigation. She represents purchasers, sellers, developers and lenders in a range of real estate and commercial litigation, including claims arising from borrower default, title defects, developer liability, Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act liability, and corporate control disputes.  Angela has worked closely with business owners to negotiate, mediate and litigate contracts, lease agreements and shareholder agreements. Angela has also advised the Town of Knightdale's Land Use Review Board.
 
Prior to joining Ragsdale Liggett in January 2010, Angela practiced in Orlando, Florida with Litchford & Christopher P.A. as a commercial and real estate litigation attorney. She moved back to North Carolina in 2007 to begin her practice at the Raleigh office of Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, where she worked extensively with lenders and developers on a range of real estate and land use matters.  Before starting her legal career, Angela worked for ICM, Inc. in New York, negotiating publishing contracts for international publication. 
 
Angela is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Wake County Bar Association, the North Carolina and Florida Bar Associations and the American Bar Association, and serves on the Executive Committee for the Wake Forest University Raleigh Alumni Club. Angela and her husband, Charles Fretterd, reside in north Raleigh with their dog, Grady. 

Angela received a B.A. in Politics from Wake Forest University in 2002 and attended the Wake Forest University School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor in 2006.  She is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Florida.
